Pauline Beatrice Goggin
Visual Artist, Writer and Social Practitioner.
Currently based in Limerick in the west of Ireland.
A graduate from Limerick School of Art and Design in the early 1970s, she returned to L.S.A.D. in September 2011 to participate in the MA in Social Practice and the Creative Environment.
Her work has been influenced and shaped by exposure to varying cultural and social realities in Ireland over the last 40 years and in Europe and Australia since 2000.
In recent years her interest in animation, documentary and sound has expanded her practice. She has availed of residency awards and extended studio experience in Ireland, Cyprus, Cadiz, Barcelona and Freemantle in Western Australia.
A lifelong interest in local and global social justice issues has motivated an interest in socially engaged practices. She is currently re-engaging with feminism, activism and less visible art forms, observing with interest the progress of the Occupy movement, worldwide.
Working from her studio in Limerick and in nomadic projects she is also a member of Visual Artists Ireland, Ground up Artists Collective, and ARC (Artists Resource Centre) Studios, Limerick
She has shown her work in cycles, from 1986-1992, 2001-2014 . Her work is in public and private collections
